Hey guys! First greeting from the great US. I am here for more than 3 days and live is pretty cool here. Right now I can say, that the landscape is beautiful, that part of city I have already seen is very cool, the shops are very big and the people are very, very nice.
Live is very easy, relaxed and not complicated right here. Only when I couldn't open my locker and when my luggaged all came here save, every thing will be alright. But I hate this damn lockers, because me and Yuki, the Japanese exchange student at my school, sometimes have really big problems to open them in a 4 minutes break. But the students at Raymond Central are pretty nice and liked to help!
Some things I carried in my checked-in luggages is broken, because the security at Chicago airport, opened it ... They left a really nice message ;-) ... I don't like them. Then my bags and those of many otheres were not send to your plan going to Sioux Falls. So I got it only on Tuesday - opened!!!
I don't like Security people at airports, you see.
Have you ever flied somewhere? After my first three flights, I am thinking flying is so cool - watching the sun above the clouds and the small houses and streets down on the earth and ... it was very beautiful. I loved flying in that big one - that was really cool and the service was very nice and good ;-).
I am trying to remeber if there is something else I could say ... oh, yeah - My host family loved me presents very  much. I gave the presents to them yesterday and we have a real nice evening together. Soon you can watch some pictures!

Supplement to my flights!
Do you know, how I thought Chicago is looking like?! I always thought it has many sky scrapers, lots of deep street canyons, and build in large size. My view out of the window of the jet looked a little diffrent I thought. There were only a few sky scrapers at the bay of Chicago, ... The onliest thing which I thought that it is looking like, was the size. Chicago is hugh! The same was in London. I couldn't remember that the city of London looked like this - but I haven't never seen London from the birds eye view before, you know. So that it what I wanted to tell ya! See ya!

Gute Nacht, und schlaft gut meine Deutschen Sturrkoepfe - hier noch eure Extrawurst:
Ich hatte am Sonntag einen grosartigen Tag im Methodistischen Gottesdienst, wie immer eine Menge netter Leute kennengelernt. Auch aus der Jugendgruppe, in die ich bald gehe und die Matt und Dori leiten. Mit zwei Girls von da waren wir am So. Mittag noch am See zum Baden und es war ziemlich funny. Abends war ich dann auch endlich zum ersten mal kurz in der Innenstadt.
Am Samstag Abend nach dem Grillen bei Freunden hatte ich ein geniales Erlbenis, als wir um Mitternacht den Walmart betraten - er war voller Leute, sogar mehr als damals, als wir unter der Woche waren, natuerlich nicht so spaet! Ich konnts fast nicht glauben.
Wo wir gerade bei Thema Lebensgewohnheiten sind, eine bzw. zwei Fragen noch: Warum schliesen sich die Amis waehrend dem Autofahren in ihren Autos ein, lassen es dagegen aber nicht abgeschlossen auf einem Parkplatz stehen???

Hallo Deutschland!
Am Wochenende war State Fair, und wir hatten deswegen das ganze Haus voll mit zwei deutschen ATS, meiner Gastoma, meiner Gasttante und meinen zwei Gastcousinen (wenn man das mal so ausdrueckt). Auserdem verbrachte ich eigentlich die meiste Zeit auf dem State Fair Territorium - eigentlich meistens im 'Kuhstall'. Glaubt mir, ich hab noch nie so viele gestylte Kuehe auf einmal gesehn. Das ist naemlich, um was es beim State Fair geht: Nebraskas Eigenschaften zu zeigen. Es gab jede Menge gestylte Tiere zu begutachten, am Sa. trug die Menge rot, wegen des Huskerspiels, es gab Westernmusik, Rodeo, Austellungen (massenweise), Fahrgeschaefte und und und ...
Was ich besonders toll fand, dass die Amis sich ueberhaupt nicht vom Wetter beeindrucken lassen. Die grillen auch noch bei Regen drausen auf dem Pakrplatz und tragen Shorts ...

Am Montag war was bei uns 'Tag der Arbeit' ist, und wir waren shoppen. Denn an Feiertagen haben eigentlich grundsaetzlich nur die Banken und Posts geschlossen. Das war schon krass.

Heute hat die Schule richtig angefangen. Unser Tag geht nun bis 3.21 pm, wenn ich aber noch Clubs oder Sport danach hab, gehts nat. laenger. Klar! Morgen ist das erste Meeting des Art Clubs und ich denke mal, ich geh hin. Das ist ja sowas, was ich in Deutschland nicht machen kann.
Auserdem haben wir heute begonnen ueber Prom und Homecoming zu reden. Ich werde doch Prom haben, da wir ne Junior-Senior-Prom haben, und das wird dann eins meiner groesten Ereignisse hier!!! Juupii! Hier gibt es fuer alles einen Koenig und eine Koenigen (sogar bei den Tierschauen), und jedes Jahr wird die ganze Decoration neu gekauft, um es jedesmal unvergesslich zu machen!

State Fair is over and I have at least some time to be online.
The house was full the whole weekend. But it was really funny, really great to know so many new great people. My host granny from Mullen was here with her exchange student from Germany and another student from Germany was with her, because his host fam was on a trip. The nices and sister of my host mom also spent three days with us or we with them.
The whole weekend we spent time on the big event, which is called Nebraska State Fair. Here I will tell you, what State Fair is all about in Nebraska (it is really interesting, to know, what Nebraska is about - so go to a state fair!):

• Cattels, horses, pigs, sheeps ... - I have never seen so many styled and made up cattels ever before. We spent most of the time in one of the beef barns or watching one of the cattel shows where all the cattels need to presented.
• Football - Match of Nebraska Huskers - the crowd wore red shirts (me too!)
• Craft - Lots of different exhibitions showed homemade and handmade things made from children, farmers, indians, clubs ...
• Carnival - with many rides > fast ones, high ones, for children or families
• Rodeo - I saw the first real Rodeo of my life. It was really cool.
• Country Music and "western" style - Things which are known as 'western' style in Germany are really normal to wear here too!!!

On Monday was Labor Day - Holiday - but all stores and shops are normally opened expect banks and post offices. That is really unbeliefeable for a German, which know the German stircts of law to open shops. But although we went shopping yesterday, bought our homecoming dresses and accessoire.

Today was the first day we had school in normal length. But it is ok. Now every class is about 10 minutes longer, so my school day is about 1.30 hours longer. That means I am normally at home till 3.45 pm. But if there is Drill team practices or club meeting, I will be home later. Tomorrow is the first meeting of Art Club and I think I will join Art Club, that is something I never could do in Germany ... that could be funny.
We also started talking about Homecoming and Prom (I will have Prom!!!! Juupi! Because we have Junior-Senior-Prom; it will be one of the biggest events this year) today. It is so unbeliefeable sometimes. They have king and queens every where and the also buy new stuff every year, to make it unforgetable to every one ... it is so big, so huge, so fastinatic!

Fuer Deutschland:
Wie immer, ich hab neue Erfahrungen gemacht, einiges dazu gelernt und des, was ich am Anfang fuer dumm, verschwenderisch oder verrueckt gehalten hab, ist zur Normalitaet fuer mich geworden.
Ich hab mich so ziemlich an das meiste gewoehnt, oder bin gerade dabei und auch in der Schule kann ich die ersten Leute zu meiner Freundesliste zaehlen. Heute hatte ich unter anderem die grose Ehre, ein Jahrbuch zu signieren - das erste meines ganzen Lebens.
Auserdem sind drei meiner Jahrbuch girls heute fast ausgeflippt, als sie mein Maepchen gesehen haben. Sie fanden die Stabilos total geil und wollten am liebsten nach Deutschland kommen sich welche kaufen. Der Schoenschreibefueller hat auch schon Popularitaet erreicht und ist bis morgen verliehen.

Die letzte Woche war nicht so besonders.
Dori und Matt waren in Arizona bis zum WE und Nicki und ich spielten Kevin allein zu Haus! ;-)
Wir hatten unser erstes Junior Klassentreffen, wegen der Prom Finanzierung. Wir muessen jetzt Magazine verkaufen - und es war schon interessant, wie man das Interesse der am. Students dazu weckt.
Wir haben auch unsere ersten Noten bekommen und ich bin eigentlich ueber all supi.
Am Freitag hab ich das erste Footballgame meiner Schule angeguckt und wir haben mit 27 zu 14 gewonnen. Nicki probierte mich zu den Anfeuereungen zu zwingen, aber ich habs net so besonders damit gehabt.
Grad bin ich ein bissle krank, aber wenn 1/4 der Schule auch ne Rudolph-Nase hat, macht das ja nichts!

Hi there - where ever.
Lot's of time passed over and I had some new experiences.
Today I can say that I get used to all the costums and habits and all that stuff. Things which I called very crazy and silly are now normal things to do for me. My locker is no problem since 'long' time and Walmarts size is nothing special for me right now.
I get used to life at school and I found the first few people I could call friends. Today I had the great pleasure to sign in the first yearbook of my life and it was so wonderful. Yuki is a great confidant to me. I think that we will be good friends perhabs.

Actually the last week wasn't so special.
Dori and Matt went to Arizona. That's why Nicki and I were alone at home.
We had our first junior class meeting because of the financing of the prom. All juniors have to sell magazines - it was really interesting again to see how to get the attemption of Americans to do or listen something.
We got our first grades and I am in nearly (acutally - would be better ;-) ) each course good.
I watched the first football match of RC (Raymond Central) and we won 27 to 14. It was great. Nicki made me to do the cheers but I wasn't good in it and let it be.
I am a little ill, but that's ok, then 1/4 of RC has a red nose like Rudolph. So it doesn't matter, when I am also a little sick.

Deutschland, was geht?
Auf den Tag genau 2 Jahre nach den Terroranschlaegen war hier irgendwie nichts besonderes los. Wir hatten einen Moment (der nicht wirklich einer war) der Stille direkt vor dem 'Gebet' zur Flagge hin, welches 'Plegde Allegiance' heist!
Aber ich habe heute einige neue Leute naeher kennengelernt und hatte sehr guten Kontakt zu meinen neuen Freunden!

Nicht wie es mal hies, faengt das Drill Team im November an zu trainieren ... nein, heute musste ich besonders frueh raus, da heut zum ersten mal Training war. Muss uebrigens ein Try-out (Bewaehrung) machen. Weis blos noch nicht was und wie schwer und so. Hoff mal nicht so schwer, weil ich will eigentlich schon ins Team und die wollen mich eigentlich auch, glaub ich. Sie haetten mir auch schon angeboten in zwei Wochen beim ersten Auftritt mitzumachen. Aber da bin ich eh nicht da, und des will ich auch noch garnicht, denn des was die grad machen, hab ich noch nie zuvor gemacht ... es ist irgendwie ein bissle wie die Mariechen an Fasching! Aber wir sehen glaub aus wie Cheerleader und haben Bomboms! ;-) Bis Homecoming hab ich das dann hoffentlich drin, dass ich da dann vielleicht mitmachen kann! Wenn ich die Try-outs bestehe.

Today the attacks on the WTC is already two years ago! Time is really fading away ...
I tought there would be some more memorial things on this day at school. I wasn't right. The newspaper showed a lot of stuff, but at school there was only a moment of silence - it was a really short moment direct before 'Pledge Allegiance' to the flagg of the United States ... Like every day!
But I talked to some guys about this, and it was really like it happend yesterday. I really got goosepimples! Today was a day of friendship and Community. Although when nobody know this. I had a real cool time with some 'friends' and I had great contact to other guys - that is what I meant!

Because of drill team practice I got up early in the morning. Drill team doesn't start in November ... no we started today, because we have a marching dance to creat. Also is there a marching dance to do on Homecoming. Maybe I will join the second one. I cannot and also wouldn't join that one in two weeks. They asked me but I really wouldn't - I've never done something like that bevore. At first I have to do try-outs. I don't know what they are at the moment and I hopefully they aren't to difficult. But the girls are nice and the actually want me to have in their team.
For those guys, which are asking what is Drill Team. Now I can say something. It is a dance group, the had a hip hop dance, but they also dance or march to the rhytms of your marching band (school band), dressed similar like cheerleaders with bomboms! (The drill team leader said they are looking for a dress and bomboms for me! Juhu!)

Hi Germans!
Was ist los im Land meiner 'Vorfahren'? Wie immer bin ich ziemlich beschaeftigt, und deswegen konnte ich mich eine Zeit lang nicht wirklich melden ...
Es war einiges los hier. Z. B. war ich vor 2 Wochen meine Gastoma in den Sandhills, im Norden Nebraskas besuchen. Die Sandhills sind dem Namen entsprechend sandige Huegel, mit kargem Gras - wie eine Steppe. An dem Samstag hatten wir die Student Orientation und ich war zum ersten mal im Land des Bowlings bowlen. Auserdem hab ich da auch ein paar Leute von Frankfurt wieder getroffen. Es war also ganz nett. Am Sontag war ich dann zum ersten mal lang ersehnten mal reiten. Es war ziemlich cool ueber die Huegel zu gallopieren, vorallem in diesen Westernsatteln mit den Cowboystiefeln. Aber danach bin ich echt gelaufen wie ein Cowboy bzw. Cowgirl und hab Muskeln gespuert, wo ich vorher nicht geglaubt habe, Muskeln zu haben!
Es waere auch ein wunderbar tolles Wochenende geblieben, wenn da nicht eine gewisse tragische Story von Julia, einer deutschen ISKA ATS, gewesen waere. Fuer alle die es noch nicht wissen, hier schreibe ich kurz wie ich die Geschichte erlebt habe:

Noch ziemlich verschlafen bin ich am Samstag morgen nach dem langen Abend mit der langen Fahrt ins Wohnzimmer gekommen. Das ganze Haus war ruhig, nur drausen haben die Hunde gebellt. Dori und Betty waren schon wach und sie meinten, ich solle mich hinsetzen, weil sie mir etwas zu erzaehlen haetten. Sie sahen beide ziemlich mitgenommen aus und als Dori mir dann die Geschichte erzaehlt hat, hab ich erstmal nur die Haelfte verstanden. Irgendwas von wegen Kerry, Autounfall und gestorben ... Ich dachte schon Kerry sei gestroben ... Ich bat Dori mir alles noch mal genau zu erzaehlen und erst dann verstand ich, um was es wirklich ging. Ich hab richtig Gaensehaut bekommen, als ichs dann kapiert hatte. Es ging naemlich um eine ATS von Kerry, die in SD lebte. Sie war am fruehen Morgen in einem Krankenhaus in Sioux Falls/SD gestorben, nach einem Autounfall auf einer unbefestigten Strase. Sie hatte keinen Sicherheitsgurt getragen und wurde durch die Frontscheibe geschleudert. Der Fahrer war ein amerikanischer High School Schuerler unter Alkohol Einfluss und hat den Unfall ueberlebt. Er trug seinen Sicherheitsgurt. Sie war gerade eine Woche hier und liebte die USA.
Das ist das tragische Ende ihres Traumes
Deshalb passt auf euch auf und Gott moege euch alle segnen ...

Letztes Wochenende war ich genauso beschaeftigt mit meiner eigenen Student Orientation am See auserhalb von Lincoln. Es war ziemlich witzig alle mal wieder zu sehen und wir freuen uns schon wahnsinning auf die Ausfluege, vorallem den zur Mall of America (groestes Kaufhaus Amerikas - das groeste der Welt ist in Kanada!). Kerry war auch dieses Wochenende wieder da. Mit dabei die Kids, Claudia (deutsche ATS von ISKA), die bei Kerry wohnt und Eduardo (ATS von Brasilien), der von Kerry betreut wird. Wir hatten eine schoene gemeinsame Zeit - international! An dem Sonntag hatte ich auch mein erstes mal Jugendgruppe. Die Leute da sind echt voll nett und es wird bestimmt cool. Dort bin ich uebrigens auch nicht die einzigste deutsche. Es gibt naemlich noch Anja (ISKA ATS).
Beruhend auf all diese 'Zufaelle' sage ich mittlerweile, dass ich wo immer ich auch bin, einen ATS von Deutschland oder jemanden mit Deutschen Vorfahren treffe ... Ich bin eben wahrlich nicht allein! ;-)

So, ich freu mich total auf morgen, wenn wir nach Kansas City in einen Vergnuegungspark fahren! Juhu! Am Sonntag machen wir dann meine persoenlichen Senior Bilder. Das ist eine Reihe Portraitfotos und wird normalerweise nur von Seniors gemacht. Leider bin ich kein Senior, so sind wir auf die Idee gekommen, selber welche zu machen und haben kurzer Hand Nicki als unseren persoenlichen Fotographen eingestellt. Sie kann das ziemlich gut und macht das liebend gern .... So hab ich wieder einiges zu tun! Deshalb bis zum naechsten mal! Gute Nacht - mittlerweile ist es bei mir auch schon 10pm.

Hi Hons! That's the short form of honey - for everybody how didn't know! ;-) It is how a lot of teachers call their students, also me. That's really funny, I think.
Ok, let's go on. I am sorry that I heven't written for so so long time. But I was very busy with a lot of school stuff and there was a lot of action each weekend.
Like 2 weeks ago when we went to my host granny. My first impression of her house in the Sandhills/NE (Sandhills are sandy hills with death gras - like a steppe) far away from others outside of Mullen, was the thought: turn round and go back where are you from. Even Dori told me about it, it was kind of a shock for me to see the big mess! I would never like to live there and it was the one of the first times I was really glad living with Dori and Matt & Nicki.
But maybe this depends, I think, you need to get used to it, and than it also would be perfext. Sebastian likes it! ;-)
Altough it was a funny weekend the most time. On Saturday 13th Betty had her Student Orientation I joined them to the bowilng area. I met some know people and also met some guys from the meeting in Frankfurt/Germany again. Kerry and her children went also down to Mullen. We had a great time together. On Sunday I went the first time of my life riding a horse on an open field. I rode them without and with  western styled sattle, wearing cowboy boots. It was a great fun to go up and down the sandhills and I am looking forward to the next time in Mullen. But after it I really feeled my muscles and I walked like a cowboy! ;-) On the way back home I learnd for my drivers permission.
It would be a really great weekend if there wouldn't be the sad story of Julia, an ISKA exchange student form Germany.
For all who heven't known yet, here is a short form of her story and how I experienced it ...

On Saturday morning, still tired form the long evening, including the long drive up to Mullen, I entered the living room. Inside the house all was quite, outside the dogs barked. Only Dori & her mom were already awak. Dori said that I should sit down because they had to tell me something. They were both looking really sad and I tried to think about what could happend. I really thought that it could be something about me or my stay in the USA.
I didn't really understand what Dori was trying to tell me. I only understood something about Kerry, car wrack, death ... I asked her if Kerry was ... She told me all again and now I listened more carefully. The story made me getting goosepimples ...
A German exchange student, from Kerry, living in SD had an car wrack the night before & died in the early Saturday morning in a Sioux Falls hospital. She was not wearing her seatbelt and was going with an drunken American boy. The boy surived because of wearing his seatbelt.  But she was catapulted through the front screen. The girl was here for one week and loved the USA so much ...
That was the tragically end of her dream ...

Last weekend I was very busy to with having my own Student Orientation at the Lake otuside of Lincoln. It was very windy & cold out there, but I was altough a nice place to meet all guys. WE all together had a great time and we are all looking roward to our trip to the Mall of America and othere ones. Kerry also was down here in Lincoln and she told us again the rules of your exchange program, which are much harder this year than the years before - you already know why, I think! The evening and the service on Sunday we spent together with Kerry, her kids, Claudia (exchange student form ISKA/Germany), who is staying at Kerry's & Eduardo (exchange student from Brasil), who is one of the students Kerry has to care of. It was really international!
On this Sunday I also had my first time at a Sunday School. It is not the Sunday School of Grace UMC, so I am not visiting it normally. I also had the first Youth Group meeting on Sunday 21st. There are a lot of nice guys in it and I am not the onliest German exchange student. There is Anja from ISKA, and she is also in Youth Group like me.
So I am always saying, that whereever I am going to there is always a German exchange student or a American with German ancestors.I am not alone! ;-)

Today another great weekend started! Tomorrow we will have a Bill (Believing in the Loving Lord - Youth Group) Trip to Kansas City in an amusement park! Juhu - let's do the rides! ;-) And on Sunday we will dacorate our house for Halloween and we planed to make 'Senior Pictures'. Senior Pictures are noramlly portraits of Seniors students. I am unfortunately not a Senior here in America ... But it is a nice thing to do and so we had the great idea to make our own senior pictures of me ... So we engaged Nicki as my photographer ... I think the pictures will be great because Nicki is really good in making pictures and she loves it.
So I will have a funny weekend I think, you too?

Der Countdown laeuft ... naechste Woche ist Homecoming Week (Woche) und ich bin ziemlich gespannt.
Vielleicht darf ich sogar an der Homecoming Parade am Freitag teilnehmen und am Samstag ist dann der beruehmte RC Homecoming Ball ...

Hallo Deutschland,
noch kurz was, bevor ich mich wieder anderen Dingen zu wende!
Also ich habe am Sa. eine super coole Show mitterlebt. Als Deutscher ist das wohl echt unglaublich, was die alles tun, um ein Footballspiel interessant zu machen. Ich hoffe, ich kann euch bald ein paar Bilder zeigen. Weil zu erklaeren geht des schwer. Wichtig ist jedenfalls, dass die Menge wieder echt rot (ein bissle weis und schwarz) getragen hat.
Ach, auserdem hab ich dieses WE mal wieder ne Deutsche kennengelernt. Sie studiert hier an der UNL (UNI) und ist so ungefaehr 19. Sie hat mir gleich ihre Tel.nr gegeben. Bis jetzt hab ich sie aber noch nicht erreicht! Mal sehen.

Am Sa hat ich mal wieder ein paar Probs. mit Miranda. Aber wir konnten ja alles loesen und hatten dann doch noch eine nette Zeit zusammen beim Drill Team Training und bei der Scavenger Hunt vom Art Club unsere Schule, in dem ich bin!

Seit dieser Montag haben wir jetzt auch die einwoechige Spirit Week, in der man zeigt, dass man ein Teil der Schule ist und so ...
So haben wir gestern fast alle Pyjamas getragen. Die fanden meinen dunkelblauen mit den Baeren drauf echt cool. Und heute war unsere Flurthema 'Woodstock' deswegen waren wir alle wie Hippies von 1969 gekleidet. War ganz witzig und es gibt auch ein paar Fotos. Ich nehme diese Woche meine Camara taeglich mit zur Schule, um ab und zu welche zu machen.

Noch kurz zu einem harten Teil meines ATJs. Englisch ist grad ziemlich schwer und ich und Martin konnten heute einen Test nicht beenden (nach 2 und mehr Schulstunden). Und ich bin fast an einer Eroerterung verzweifelt. Hier darfst du naemlich ueberhaupt keine Personal Pronomen benutzen und so war mein Blatt danach rot ... gestern hatte ich es zu verbessern und ohne Doris und Matts Hilfe haette ichs wohl nicht durchgehalten!
Deswegen danke an meine lieben Gasteltern fuer die Unterstuezung!!!

I wrote this nice long text for you - but the computer deleted it ... so, here is the real short version of it!
I had a really fantastic, imagine weekend. On Saturday we went to the Husker game, and it was such a big show. Not only through the game, already before there was lots of stuff going on. There was a kind of a fan park and before the game there was the marching band on the field and the flag team and drill team and whatever. It was really loud, hot and cool. But there were a lot of first-aid persons (some only 2/3 rows down), because of the heat. I also knew another German girl. She is studying at UNL and she gave me her phone number ...

On Sunday I had extra Drill Team practice and at the evening an Art Club Scavenger Hunt. I had some problems with my car pool but we could solve them ... the rest of the day was really funny together with the guys of my high school.

Since yesterday we have Spirit Week at RC. It is really funny and also strange. For exapmle yesterday when I changed my pyjama, which I wore during the night, to another one to go to school. Today our hallway theme was Woodstock. So nearly every Junior was dressed up like in 1969.
We made some nice pictures of us and maybe some of them are in the yearbook next year!
A lot of guys liked my dark blue pyjama with the bears on it .. how funny.

Now I want to say some words to the hard part of my stay here. English class is getting harder and harder. I couldn't finish a test over 7 pages (you had to do 6) in two hours (each 45 min.) and 10 mins. So now Mrs. Smith is olny grding what I got. Martin already wrote for 3 hours and isn't finished yet, too. It was a really hard test, although we could use our notes.
The other thing is a persuasive eassay like Thomas Pain's 'The Crisis' with a title of your choice. When I got it back form the first correction it was a really red paper. Because I didn't know, that you are not allowed to use personal pronouns. I was really desparated yesterday when I tried to correct it. But I think I got something nice with the help of Dori and Matt.

That's why I want to say some words for Dori and Matt now:
I really would get more desparated when there wouldn't be so much support of Dori and Matt druing my year here.
So, I want to thank you Dori and Matt for this ... I am sure, that you will read this sometimes.

Hi Germany!
Noch ist Homecoming Week, noch genau 2 Tage ... morgen tragen wir Klamotten in Schulfarben und die 'Mr. Mustang' - Candidaten tragen anscheinden Anzug!
Gestern standen die Jungs im Mittelpunkt. Es war Opposit Day und du hattest dich im Gegensaetzlichen Geschlecht zu verkleiden. So hatten viele Jungs Kleider oder Roecke an ...
Die Girls hatten ihren Tag am Dienstag, da haben sie witzige Sachen bei den Jungs daheim oder den Lehrern gemacht, so was, wie wir am 1. Mai. Das ist aber nur fuer die Senior Grils, leider. Denen ihre Autos sind jetzt auch alle rot und weis beschrifftet.
Morgen ist dann auch noch die Parade mit der Kroenung von King & Queen, und das Footballspiel.
Zum Ball am Samstag geh ich dann mit Yuki und wahrscheinlich mit James & Jessica. James hat mich naemlich gefragt, ob ich nicht mit ihnen zum Essen ausgehen moechte (was man hier so macht) und anschliesend zum Tanz zugehen! Cool! Danke James!

Was ich noch sagen wollte: Ich bin nicht mehr im Drill Team. Weil mich unsere Direktor nicht drin haben will, weil ich keine Dry outs hatte - die waren im Fruehling, wie sollte!? So hat es mir Leah gestern erzaehlt (sie meinte auch noch, das ich das Talent dazu haette, es zu machen, aber die Praxis fehlt). Als ich dann heut mit Mr. Dixon geredet hab, hat er mehr oder wengier alles abgestritten und nur gemeint, die Schule haette ja Regeln. Er redet mit dem Coach und morgen nochmal mit mir ... aber ich glaub nicht, dass ich mir den Stress antue, fuer ein bissle Tanzen! Nein danke! Ich habe sowieso eine Entscheidung gebraucht. Weil ich vielleicht vorhatte im Winter Basketball zu spielen. Aber du kannst nicht beides machen, da es die selben Trainingszeiten hat ... so werde ich jetzt wohl das harte Basketball Training auf mich nehmen! ;-)

Hi there, guys! What's up?
Spirit Week is nearly over, but it was a great fun. Yesterday the boys were really in the center of talking .... Opposit Day > Girls dressed like boys (but that is looking more normal, because a lot of girls already wear boys stuff) and boys dressed like girls. So a lot of boys wore dresses and skirts, cheerleading outfits and so on ... Really neat!
The girls had there most important day on Tuesday were they made some funny stuff after school - only Senior girls. All their cars are now painted with red and white markers ... it looks cool and now you know, who is driving! ;-)
Tomorrow is on of the most important days! Spirit Day, we are all dressed in school colors, and the 'Mr. Mustang'- Candidates will wear Tuxados ... Great! Then there is also the Parade with King, Queen and Royalty, the Football game ...

On Saturday is the first Dance and I will go there with Yuki and propably with Jessica and James! Because James asked me, if I would like to join them to go out for supper and after that to the dance.
It will be a very cool evening, I hope!

At the end, what I wanted to write is: That I am no longer in Drill Team, because our Principal thinks, that it is unfair, because I haven't had Try outs in Spring! I couldn't have ... I would say. That's what Leah told me (Leah also said, that I would have the skill, to do it, only practice is missing) yesterday. When I talked to Mr. Dixon today, he said, he never said something like that, and it is not his decision ... he will talk to the Coach, and will talk to me tomorrow again. But I think, I don't want to have so much stress only because of a little danicng ... so I think I will do Girls Basketball during the winter! You cannot do both, because they have the same practice times. So there was a decision needed!

Mal wieder einiges los dieses Wochende! Heute is Spirit Day! Juhuu! Hatten heute eine Pep Ralley fuer die Mr. Mustang Kandidaten. Heute abend ist dann das Footballspiel und die Parade mit der Kroenung und morgen dann der Tanz! Ich bin schon richtig gespannt!
Yuki kommt morgen zu mir, damit wir uns gemeinsam fertig machen koennen und so. Abends gehen wir dann ja erstmal mit James und Jessica aus!

Ich bin nicht mehr im Drill Team - meine letztendliche Entscheidung! Weil ich hatte einfach das ewige Hin und Her satt. Deswegen hab ich heut mit unserem Director gesprochen und hab gemeint, dass ich eben keine Lust mehr darauf habe, diesen Aeger laenger mitsumachen (auch wenn er nicht fand, dass es Aerger war! ;-) ) und dass ich dann Basketball spielen werde. Plotzlich war er dann wieder super freundlich zu mir! So, wenn du machst, was er sagt, ist er wirklich dein bester Freund, und wenn nicht, waerst du der letzte Schuler, auf den er achten wuerde! In diesem Sinne, bis demnaechst!

Spirit Day! Juhuu! It is a great day. We had a pep ralley at school for the Mr. Mustang candidates! Tonight is the game ... and the parade and tomorrow the dance! I am excited!
Yuki is coming to me tomorrow, we are going to get ready together and then we are going out with Jessica and James!

I am not in Drill team - the last decision (of me)! Because I didn't want to have all this trouble with it. So I talked to Mr. Dixon again. He said, it wouldn't be trouble and stuff like that, but I said, that it seemed to me like that and that I will do Basketball during the winter ... and suddenly he was so friendly to me. Said basketball will be the best for me, and thats nice and stuff like that! So, when you are doing, what he is saying, then he will be your best friend and if not, you are the last person he would look at! ;-)

Tach! Bin mal wieder da. Mein letztens Wochenende war einfach genial, war aber gefolgt bei einer harten Woche mit Basketball Training. Das Team is ziemlich gut, um einiges besser, als ich und was ich sonst so gewohnt bin. Denen ihre Kondition ist unglaublich, weshalb ich dann meistens die letzte im Team bin. Ich versuche mein bestes und einmal hab ich meiner Gruppe aber auch schon zu zwei von drei Siegen in einer Staffel verholfen, mit einem super Sprint. Jedesmal nach dem Training bin ich voellig am Ende und des trotz das ich nicht immer alles mache, was die normalerweise im Training machen. Die Woche ueber konnte ich eigentlich so ziemlich jeden einzelnen Muskel fuehlen und es war schwer zu laufen. Aber ich werde total gut von den Girls unterstuezt und ich bin eigentlich auch schon ein Teil des Teams. Unser Trainer ist so eigentlich ganz nett, aber eben ziemlich streng und 'gemein', was das Training angeht. Er will ja einen Sieger am Ende sehen!!! Er sagte auch, dass ich einfach mein bestes versuchen soll und das wird dann schon. Naechste Woche faengt dann das richtige Training an (bisher war es mehr nur Conditioning) und wir hben fuer eine Woche 2 mal taeglich Training! Viel Spas!!!

Ok, nun zu unserem Ausflug hoch nach Minnesota. Es war einfach nur genial und ich bin froh, dass ich das gemacht hab. Ich hab duzende netter Leute getroffen und es war einfach nur beruehrend, als ich Sophia in South Dakota wieder getroffen habe oder als Julia ihre beiden vorherigen Gastfamilien (beide von Wisconsin) getroffen - vorlauter Freude hat die eine Gastmutter sogar mich total gedrueckt ...
Die 'Zwillingsstaedte' St. Paul (Hauptstadt von Minnesota) und Minneapolis sind doch groeser als ich gedacht habe und haben eine wunderschoene Skyline und schoene Gebaeude. Irgendjemand von den ATS hat gesaht, dass die Staedte wenigstens ja ein bisschen den Flair von Deutschland haetten!
Das Wissenschaftsmuseum war ganz interessant und der 3 D Film ueber die Entdeckung Ost Americas durch Lewis & Clark war ziemlich cool anzuschauen. Ich hab mich richtig 'abgehoben' gefuehlt, als die Bilder, die aus einem Helicopter gedreht wurden, gezeigt haben. Aber erst so richtig interessant war das Schild, das wir am Ausgang zur Aussichtsterasse gefunden haben und auf dem stand: 'Schuler koennen nur auf die Terasse in Begleitung erwachsener!' Wir dachten echt, was ist dass denn jetzt ... habens dann aber natuerlich nicht ausprobiert, was passieren wuerde, wenn wir jetzt doch rausgehen wuerden ...
Nun ja, die Mall ansich war unglaublich gros. Wir konnten nicht alles angucken und in den zwei Tagen haben wir die meiste Zeit im Ostteil des ersten Stocks verbracht. Am Freitag haben wir nur so rumgeguckt, sind durch den Freizeitpark - Camp Snoopy - in der Mitte des ersten Stocks gelaufen und waren fuers Essen im 4. Stock. Am Samstag haben wir uns dann ganz aufs einkaufen konzentriert, so dass unsere Fuese am Ende richtig weh getan haben!
Wir haben mitbekommen, wie ein Verkaeufer gesagt hat, dass wenn man in jedem Laden nur 10 Minuten verbringen wuerde, wuerde man trotzdem noch ca. 1 Woche oder so brauchen, um alles zu sehen ... Naechstes Mal sollten wir dann wohl mehr Zeit mitbringen! ;-)
Im Ganzen war das Wochenende einfach nur cool und die meisten Leute wuerden so was gern wiederholen, mich eingeschlossen!
Dieses Wochenende bin ich krank und verbringe wohl auch die meiste Zeit daheim!
Noch als Randinfo, die Grundfassung fuer diesen Eintrag hab ich im Physiologieunterricht geschrieben. Da koennt ihr mal sehen, dass wir nicht sonderlich viel lernen, und dass ich das Fach wohl zum Semester wechsle!

Hi guys! I am back again. I had a great last weekend, followed by a hard week with basketball practice. The team is really too good for me ... Their condition is imagine. I am most of the times the last person of the team. I am trying my best and once I already helped me practice group to win a rally twice (of three times) with a super sprint. I am always done after practice and I am not doing all what the american girls are doing right now. I nearly can feel every muscle and it is hard to walk. But everybody encourages me, and I am already a part of the team. Our coach said I should do my best and that would be ok. He is probably nice, but mean in teaching practice. Next week the real basketball practice starts and we will have practice twice a day - for one week. Have fun! =)

Ok, now our trip up to Minnesota last weekend. It was such a great trip and I am glad, that I did it. I met dozens of nice people and it was really overwhelming, when I met Sophia again or when Julia met her first and second host families. The twin cities, St. Paul (capitol of Minnesota) and Minneapolis are pretty much bigger, than I thought and have a beautiful skyline, with nice buildings. Somebody said, that this has at least a little bit of the German flair.
The science museum offered interesting stuff and the 3 D movie about the discovery of Western America through Lewis and Clark was cool to watch. I really felt like flying when the showed pictures made ot of a helicopter! But really interesting to see was the sign: 'Students need to be chaperoned to be on the balcony!' We thought how stupid, but we better didn't try what would happen, if we go out ...
Well now, lets go to the mall itself. It was icredidable big, everything. We couldn't see everything and in this two days we were most of the times only in the East part (1st level) of the mall. On Friday we only looked round, went through the amusement park - Camp Snoopy - in the 1st level of the mall, and went eating up in the 4th level. On Saturday we nearly spent the most time for shopping and at the end our feet really hurt. We heard a shop assistance say, that if you would only spend 10 minutes in each store, you would need 1 week or so to go round and see everything.
All together was the weekend pretty cool adn most people would like to do it again, me as well.
This weekend I am sick and stay at home, probably nearly the whole time.
Only as information, I wrote the most part of the script for this item in our physiology class. So actually this must be a sign that we don't learn much, that's why I will probably switch classes at the end of the semester!

Hallo! Da bin ich mal wieder. Ist ja ne ganze Weile her jetzt. Naja, war aber meistens beschaeftigt, oder nicht daheim. Die meisten wissen ja, warum. Wenn nicht, hier kommt nochmal die Geschichte in Kurzfassung:

Also, ich habe ja die ganze letzte Woche zusammen mit Yuki und den Petersons (ihren Gasteltern) in Ceresco verbracht. Weil, Dori, Matt und Nicki und auch beinahe der ganze andere Rest der Evans Sippe in einem Land das den wunderschoenen Namen Deutschland traegt waren und zufaelligerweise auch mein Heimatland ist! ;-)
Wir hatten alle eine gute Zeit, sowohl die Amis in Deutschland als auch ich bei den Amis! ;-)
Wir haben einiges unternommen. Zum Beispiel waren wir im Embassy Hotel (nicht ganz billig - fuer am. Verhaeltnisse) (Judy's und Jarry's Toechter haben dort uebernachtet)  und haben da mal geschwind den Swimming Pool mit Sauna und Whirlpool benutzt. Auserdem sind wir bis Mitternacht in der Hotellobby abgehangen oder mit den glaesernen Aufzuegen gefahren.
Am Samstag dann haben wir uns den Star City Weihnachtsumzug angesehen. War ziemlich kalt, die ganze Zeit auf am Strasenrand zu stehen. Ein Glueck konnten wir uns ja die Haende an der Heisen Schokolade waermen.
Yuki und ich haben Donnerstag Abend in der Schule verbracht und haben unser Maechen Basketballteam angefeuert. Das Juniorteam (ist nicht ganz mit unseren Jugenden zu vergleichen) hat leider verloren, aber das Seniorteam hat einen gradniosen Start in die kommende Saison hingelegt. Danach war ich so was von stolz auf mein Team und darueber, ein Teil davon zu sein.
Ich hatte dann meine grose Chance am Montag, als die 9. Klaessler ihr erstes Spiel hatten. Leider hab ichs noch zu nichts besserem geschafft - mir fehlen auch 2 Wochen Training, weil ich kaum mitmachen konnte wegen einer Muskelzerrung! Jedenfalls 2 Minuten vor Spielende, habe ich schon fast agbeschalten gehabt, eh schon nicht mehr daran gedacht, dass ich noch spielen werde ... da meint mein Coach ploetzlich, Stefanie, du spielst fuer Nicki. Nicki war Point eine wichtige Defensiv Position. So hab ich ihn gleich mal gefragt, er hat dann aber doch noch gemeint, dass ich den Seitenfluegel uebernehmen kann. Damit war ich dann zufrieden. So hab ich sogar noch ein Passspiel gehabt und stand die letzte Minute auf dem Feld. Garantiert habe ich spielen duerfen, weil wir das Spiel so oder so Haus hoch verloren haetten! Wahoo, unser Gegner, hat die meisten Punkte uebrigens durch Freiwuerfe erzielt, die sie durch die Fouls von unserem Team bekommen haben. Also keine so sonderlich gute Leistung. Mein Coach hat aber gemeint, ich haette nicht schlecht gespielt! ;-)
An meinem letzten Tagin Ceresco hatten wir dann noch einen Stromausfall und es hat endlich angefangen so richtig zu schneien! Es ist nun alles weis! Juhuu!

Noch kurz zu Thanksgiving, dem 2. wichtigsten amerikanischen Familienfest. Vielliecht sogar das wichtigste. Ist eigentlich mit der Bedeutung von Weihnachten im Zusammenhang mit der Familie fuer einen Deutschen zu vergleichen.
Wir haben Thanksgiving in Minden bei Matt's Eltern verbracht. Ich kenne jetzt die ganze Familie von Matt und ich liebe seine kleine Nichte Jacey (halbes Jahr alt)! Wir hatten alle eine gute Zeit zusammen und ein leckeres Essen - eigentlich zweimal! Ich liebe Kurbiskuchen! ;-)

Ach, was mir noch einfaellt, den Amis faellt auch staendig eine neue Form ein, Stefanie zu schreiben. Man denkt vielleicht, sie haben es nach 4 Monaten endlich kapiert, dass man meinen Namen einfach nur mit einem f anstatt dem ph schreibt. Ja, das waere ja nicht das einzigste und nicht so schlimm, wenn es bei einem Stephanie und einem Steph als Kurzform anstatt Steff oder Steffi geblieben waere ... Der Hoehepunkt ist der Name, der jetzt auf meiner Sporttrinkflasche prankt: STEPHANY! Was fuer ein schoener Name - nur ganz und garnicht meiner! ;-)
Das war jetzt noch mal was, was eigentlich nur die Deutsch so richtig interessieren kann ... denn die Amis verstehen das irgendwie immer nie, wenn man versucht ihnen zu erklaeren dass man das anderst schreibt. Was auch immer. Hab so manchmal auch meine Probleme mit deren Namen, aber die sind nicht seit 4 Monaten die gleichen! ;-)

Hi there! Quite a while ago, since the last time. Most of you, know that I was very busy and not at home the last week. For the ones, they didn't here is a short version of my story:

I spent the last week with Yuki and the Petersons (her host parents) in Ceresco, because Matt and Dori, Nicki and nearly the whole Evans Family spent one week in the beautiful country with the nice name of GERMANY! ;-) (They really enjoyed the stay!) But I also had a nice time together with Yuki and her hosts. We did a lot of things. For example, we went to the Embassy Hotel and went swimming in their nice swimming pool area with sauna and whirlpool. We also went downtown to see the Star City Christmas Parade. That's why we stood outside for more than one hour at very cold temperatures, with hot chocolate in our hands. Yuki and I saw the RC Girls Basketball Team's first Game on Thursday. Unfortunately JV lost, but Varsity had a great success and I was very proud of my team! The Freshmans (and me) had their first game on Monday. Actually I thought that I wouldn't play and I really was glad, two mintues before the end of the game, that I hadn't played. But then my coach told me that I should play and I was very nervous - I played the during the last minute one the strong side wing, so I got some passing to do! Unfortunately we also lost our game pretty high! The probably half of the points Wahoo made, were through the freethrows after our fouls ...
On my last day in Ceresco we had no energy in the morning and it started snowing! So everythin is white now ... juhuu! =)

Ok, Thanksgiving - the time of the family in America! It is probably as improtant as Christmas for the Germans, because of being together with the family.
We went to Minden, and stayed at Matt's parents. I met all of Matt's family and we had a great time and a delicious dinner together. I love Jacey, Matt's little nice - she is a half year old now! =)

Ok, I think that was everything really important from the last couple of weeks, besides all the ordinary stuff.

Tach liebe Leut! Wollte euch mal ueber mein diesjaehriges Weihnachten aufklaeren. Oder ueber die Zeit gerade, besser gesagt. Dass wir jetzt endlich Schnee haben, und dass alles so schon weis aussieht, wisst ihr ja schon. Naja, wir haben auch schon eine ganze Weile unsere Weihnachtsdekoration rausgekramt.
Unser Kunstbaum steht jetzt, und wir haben ihn total kitisch bunt mit vielen blinkenden, kleinen Lichtern geschmueckt, einer silber Kette, und tausenden und aber tausenden der verschiedensten Weihnachtskugeln, Haenger mit Scooby Doo und Snoopy Motiven, Werbegeschenken und Urlaubsmitbringseln. Das restliche Haus ist natuerlich nach Amerikanischer Tradition auch nicht undekoriert geblieben. Die Lichterketten ausen haengen jetzt alle und es ist garantiert, dass man unser Haus bei Nacht nciht verfehlen kann, da wir das Haus mit den meisten Lichtern in der Strasse sind ... Mein Zimmer ist nicht ganz ungeschmueckt geblieben. Ich habe ein paar kleine Sticker und Sachen aufgestellt und eine bunte Lichterkette haengt um mein Fenster, was dann Abends immer ganz romantisch aussieht. ... =)
Nach guter alter deutscher Tradition oeffne ich taeglich meinen kleinen Adventskalender und zuende auch woechentlich eine Kerze mehr an ... bis schlieslich Weihnachten!
Auserdem musste ich mich letztens mal einen Nachmittag lang in die Kueche stellen, weil ich das Plaetzchen backen und lecker schmeckende Plaetzchen vermisst habe ... daraus wurden dann Vanillekipferl und Austecherle! Mmmh ... die fanden hier alle so gut, dass sie schon laengst aufgegessen sind. Vielleicht sollte ich mal neue machen! ;-)
Froehliche Weihnachten auf jedenfall mal an alle, und das ihr noch Schnee fuer weise Weihnachten in Deutschland kriegt! ;-)

Hey, grad in dem Moment kam unser Nachbar (ich kenn ihn noch nicht mal!) vorbei und hat uns Plaetzchen gebracht!!! Ist das nicht lieb? ;-) Vielleicht sollten wir das jetzt auch machen ...

Howdy Cowboys! I want to tell ya about my this year's winter wonderland. I already told ya, that we have snow now and that everything looks pretty nice and white ... But we also decorated everything really pretty. So that everything looks christmasy now.
We have your nice artificial plastic tree in the living room corner, decorated with a lot of colored christmas ornaments and other figurines. There are all the lights up on the roof and the stairs, where ever. In the night, you probably wouldn't miss the house, because it is the house with the most lights in the whole (small) street. My room also got some nice colored lights ... so it looks very romantic in the evening ... ;-)
I still open my advent calender and I light candles each week - first one, then two, then three, then four and then is Xmas - as a German tradition! ..
So that's my advents season this year.
Oh, and I made some German Xmas cookies because I really missed doing that. They were pretty good and are already gone ... so maybe I will make some more!

Hallo mein geliebtes Deutschland! ;-)

Hier gibts mal wieder neues von mir - wenn auch nur in einer Art kurzen Zusammenfassung! Man, ich war schon eine ganze Weile nicht mehr. War einfach zu beschaeftigt, mit Schule, Haushalt, Weihnachten und Urlaub! Hier kommt das wichtigste in Kuerze!

Weihnachten: Ich hatte ein super, nettes Weihnachten mit der Familie. Am 23. Dezember haben wir die ersten Geschenke aufgemacht und zusammen mit Nicki gefeirt. Nachts sind wir dann noch durch die Stadt gefahren und haben uns die geschmueckten Haeuser angeguckt. Am 24. musste ich dann erstmal meine Familie und good old Germany beim Weihnachtsessen ueberraschen. Es hat mich mal wieder total gefreut, mit meinen Liebsten zu reden. Am hl. Abend waren wir dann in der Kirche und haben die ersten Geschenke geoeffnet mit Matt's Familie. Am 25. morgens dann ganz traditionel ebenfalls mit Matt's Familie haben wir dann vor dem Fruehstueck - bzw. Brunch - die Geschenke geoeffnet.

Texas: Am Nachmittag des 25.  haben wir uns mit nahezu dem rest von Dori's Familie (neben ihrem Bruder, der in Texas lebt) getroffen und haben unseren Ausflug nach Galveston/Texas gestartet. Mit einem Stop in Witchita/Kansas und Oklahoma City/Oklahoma - wir haben uns das Gedenkmal fuer den Bombenanschlag aufs Regierungsgebaeude angeguckt - kam wir dann endlich in der Nacht des 26. an unserem Strand haus an. Die morgende und den Sonntag mittag haben wir am Strand mit Muscheln sammeln und Sandburgen bauen verbracht. Waehrend wir am Samstag das Space Center in Houston besucht haben und am Sonntag konnte wir mehr oder weniger machen was wir wollten, so war ich im Kino und abends noch Schlittschuh laufen und habe die Lichterdeko in einem Hotelpark betrachtet. Am 27. haben wir dann den Ausflug mit einer Ganztagesfahrt wieder beendet.

Silvester/Neujahr: Den rest der Woche, wie auch Silvester und Neujahr habne wir in Mullen/Nebraska verbracht. Wir haben dort auf Bettys Farm geholfen. An Silvester kam Amy Doris Freundin vorbei und wir haben die ganze Nacht Millenium Monopoly gepsielt und Tv geguckt. Zusammen mit dem 'Ball Drop' in New York haben wir Stunde fuer Stund emit den Zeitverschiebungen Neujahr gefeirt. Waehrend der Mountain Time Feier haben wir dann mit Kinderwein (Traubensaftschorle) angestosen.
 Leider gibt es ja kein Feuerwerk, da das in den meisten Teilen der USA um diese Jahreszeit verboten ist und auch nur am 4. Juli (Nationalfeiertag) erlaubt ist.

So, das war eigentlich schon fast alles. Wollte nur mal sagen, dass ich total liebe, nette Geschenke bekommen habe, die mich immer an Amerika erinnern werden. Z. B. einen Cowboyhut, ein amerikanisches Kochbuch, einen Teppich mit Nebraska drauf, ein Weihnachtsbaum an Haenger mit einem Football spielenden Cornhusker-'Schneemann' und auch noch eine Linkin Park CD.
Als ich das Geschenk von meiner Gastoma Grace bekommen habe, kamen mir beinahe die Traenen in die Augen, da ich es nicht erwartet haette, dass ich was bekomme, da ich sie bisher nur 2 mal getroffen habe.
Auch sonst moechte ich mich mal ganz lieb fuer alle Geschenke bedanken, auch fuer das, was von Deutschland kam. Ebenfalls lebe Gruese von meinen Gasteltern und Nicki, die sich total gefreut haben!

Das Basketballtraining hat nun wieder angefangen und das 1. Semester habe ich mit einem Abschlusstest in Amerikanischer Geschichte beendet und die meiste Zeit vor dem Semesterende damit verbracht meine Semesterkunstwerke fuer Kunst fertig zu bringen. Ich bin gespannt auf das 2. Semester!
Als weiter Information, Kayla ist jetzt eingezogen und ich freue mich total, eine 'grose Gestschwester' zu haben. Wir waren auch schon zusammen aus und einkaufen.

Hi there! Man, there was not much free time the last couple of weeks. I was busy nearly all the time, with school, houshold, christmas and vaccation!
Here is a short sumary of the most important stuff I did. I hope I can remeber everything! ;-)

Christmas: It was a great familiar celebration. We celebrated at home and opend presents together with Nicki on December 23rd and drove around the city to watch christmas lights afterwards. I called good old Germany in the moring of December 24th and surprised my whole family after their christmas dinner. It made me feel good to see that they are still happy! We also went to a christmas service in the evening and opend the first presents together with Matt's family that night and also in the morning of the 25th, which is traditional for America.

Texas: On Decembe 25th we started together with all nearly all the members of Dori's family (besides the borther who lives in Texas) to drive down to Texas. With a stop in Witchita/Kansas and Oklahoma City/Oklahoma - visiting of the boming side memorial - we arrived on Dec. 26th in the night down at our rented beach house in Galveston/Texas. We spent the mornings there to collect shelfs and play on the beach, what we also did on Sunday afternoon. Nicki and I watched the sun raise on Sunday morning as well. But on Saturday we went to the Houston Space Center, which was kind of interesting. On Sunday we divided the group and everybody could do what they wanted. I saw a movie - Cheaper by the dozend - and went ice skating and watching the lights in a big hotel's garden. We had a christmas party with opening a lot more presents down there, too. On December 27th we completed our trip with a whole day drive back!

New Year(s Eve): We stayed up in Mullen/Nebraska the rest of that week and helped on Bety's farm. On New Years Eve we met with Amy (New York), a friend of Dori's, and played Millenium Monopoly the whole night, while watching a New Years Celebration. We followed the celebration of the New Year thorugh all the time zones of the USA and everytime the ball in New York droppen we celebrated. For the Mountain Time celebration we had 'sparkling grape juice'. Unfortunately, there was no fire work, because that is illegal in Nebraska, esides on July 4th!

I think that was nearly everything .... I just wanted to say, that I got very many nice presents, from a lot of people I wouldn't have had expected it, as well. I nearly cried when I got the present from Grandma Grace, which I met only twice since I am here!
I got many things which will remind me of America and many things I like. E. g. I got a cowboy hat, a american cooking book, a Nebraska blanket and a Nebraska Cornhusker Footballplayer ornament and especially the Linkin Park Album.
I wnat to tsay hanks for everything I got .... You are the best!

Now basketball started all over and I am busy again. I finished my 1st semester with writing a semester final in American History, changing some classes, and also working hard and nearly 4 classes a day for my art works to finish. Now I am excited for the next semester.
New is also, that Kayla moved in by the beginning of the last week. We already went out shopping together and have much fun. I appreciate to have a 'bigger host sister'!

Hi there! Finally I have internet access again, so I can give a real short statement about the me time. I came back from the trip to Orlando/Fl yesterday and it was great after all the trouble right at the beginning. It was so cool to see all the students and to hang round with them we had all a great time together, saw lots of things and wished to be able to stay!

Hab endlich mal wieder Zeit gefunden an meiner HP rumzubasteln. Ihr koennt jetzt auch endlich wieder neue Bilder angucken. Hab ja jetzt auch schon kein Basketball mehr. Es sind nur noch die Spiele um die Statemeisterschaften und so. Deswegen ist es jetzt wieder etwas langweiliger an den Nachmittagen! ;-)
Ganz cool war auch noch, dass ich das letzte Heimspiel nicht verpasst habe (da die Snowdays gehabt haben, waehrend ich in Florida war). Das war nochmal eine grose Show, weil es ja auch das letzte Spiel fuer die Seniors war auf heimischem Boden zu spielen. Fuer ich war es auch nochmal grosartig, da Kenzie mir nochmal eine grose Freude gemacht hat und einen der kleinen Raymond Basketballe fuer mich beschrieben hat. Auserdem haben wir noch mal Fotoas gemacht. Einfach zu schade, dass alles schon wieder vorbei ist! Von meinem Coach hab ich auch nochmal ein Andenken bekommen, naehmlich meine Trinkflasche! Das ist die, die die total verratzte Version meines Namens drauf hat. Aber trotzdem nett von ihm. Er hat auch nochmal eine Umarmung gekriegt und mein Trainerin auch!
Gestern war uebrigens Presidenten(ehren)tag. Davon hat man aber garnichts gemerkt (obwohl es eigentlich ein hoeherer Feiertag ist), denn nur die Banken und die Post hatte zu, ein paar Grundschulen vielleicht noch. Wir hatten aber eine Schulveranstaltung, in der die besten Schueler des ersten Semesters von unserer Schule geehrt wurden. Ich hab mir noch so gedacht, es waere schon schoen auch so was von den USA zu haben. Weil Sam auch so leise gesprochen habe, habe ich die Namen immer kaum verstanden und war total erschrocken, als Ashlee mir zu gerufen hat, dass ich doch endlich runtergehen soll und mein Certifikat (so was wie ein Preis oder die Belobigung) abholen soll. So stand ich also auch da unten und habe was bekommen. Alle ATS haben eins bekommen. Bin als 11. auf der Liste zur Honor Roll also nicht zu schlecht! ;-)

I just want to say, that I had a little bit time to redo my homepage. Because I don't have Basketball anymore. =( There are only the state games for the Varasity team left. But I will cheer!
Kenzie made me a great joy when she signed a blue Mustang ball for me on your last homegame which I fortunately not missed (because they had the snow days while I was in Florida). I got my drinking bottle from Basketball as well. It is the one which has the really messed up versionof my name on it > what a nice souvenir! ;-)
Yesterday was Presidentsday by the way. But not like in Germany, we didn't have a school free day! But we had an assembly where they also honored the best students of your school in 1st Semester. I didn't hear my name at first, but I thought, it would be cool to stand down there and have one of these Certificats. Then Ashlee yelled at me I finally should go down and get my stuff ... I got one!!!!!! Yeah! We all exchange students got one.
That was it, I have to study a little bit now. So I say bye!

Oh my gosh! Another month has passed by ... the time is running so fast. I am here for only two more month and school is over in aroung 24 days! Everything went by so fast.
Right now at school everything is concentrating on Prom and Graduation in 3rd and 2nd week of may.
It seems to be really busy with Prom. I am really excited. I even got a nice date ... so be excited to, what news about Prom I can tell you soon.
Otherwise, I will take Drivers Ed in May and I am excited to finally get my Drivers License, which I try to get after my 18th Birthday in round 35 days! wow ... 18! ;-)
I also had a nice weekend at my friends house. It was so much fun. I went horse back riding, and I saw a Trap shooting event (in the rain - we were soaked), went to an Mexican restaurant, petted little chickens and many other animals. Today we went shopping for Brent's (Liz's boyfriend) tux. It was interessting to see that. My date got his tux already, so I am interested in how it will look. I have some problems with my hairstyle right now. I hope I will find a solution.
I think that was the most interesting from here right now ... I think I will watch the end of "Radio" and I will watch "Bowling for Columbine" later ...

Howdy! Here I am again already. I thought, I could write you the reason why I don't write very often anymore. I thought about that just a second ago and I think I found an answer for that.
I think it is not because I would have not enought time, because actually I am often bored and watch just TV, instead of doing something more interesting and intellectual. But anyway, I think I don't write as often as before, because a lot of the things I do right now are already part of my everydays life, and I don't realize, that it might be exciting for you to hear. Well, that I think explains the situation really good, doesn't it?

Hi ihr alle!
Man oh man, die Zeit ist so schnell vergangen und ich bin seit Samstag auch schon wieder in Good old Germany und mein ATJ in den Staaten ist vorbei, seit ich dann ja am Samstag in Stuttgart gelandet bin.
Jetzt ist Amerika wieder so weit weg von hier und mein ATJ gibt es nicht mehr und ich zaehle nur noch als Returnee (Wiedergekommene).
Naja, ich hatte auf jeden Fall eine super Zeit die letzten paar Tage und Wochen in den USA. Der Missionsausflug (Arbeitslager) war ziemlich cool und und Chicago zu sehen war noch viel cooler. Wir waren auf dem Sears Tower (eins der höchsten Gebäude der Welt) und so weiter. Auf dem Sears Tower (im Aussichtsdeck) haben wir dann auch eine Amish Familie gesehen. Das fand ich ziemlich cool, weil ich wollte immer noch unbedingt eine sehen, so lange ich in den USA war. Diese Familien leben so total anderst wie wir, aber so interessant und ich würds gern mal miterleben.
In Lincoln waren wir dann auch noch bei einem Saltdogs Baseballgame und zu Jazz im Juni, das ist so ein Jazzfestival in einem Lincolner Park. Dort haben wir sogar orginal dt. Bratwürste mit Weckle gegessen. Bei Starbucks waren wir auch nochmal.
Es ist einfach nur traurig, dass das Jahr schon wieder vorbei ist. Es war so total interessant.
Hey, auch noch was cooles war, dass ich Jessica (Homecoming) nochmal getroffen hab, als wir gerade bei Walmart waren. Es war so cool ihr da zufällig über den Weg zu laufen. Ich dachte schon ich würde sie nie wieder sehen.
Am Freitag war es dann nicht so toll. Schließlich musste ich gehen! =( Ich hab mich einfach nur so scheiße gefühlt die ganze Zeit - imPrinzip genauso beschissen wie letztes Jahr, als ich von Deutschland fort bin. Du fühlst dich einfach so komisch und aufgeregt. Es war dann (genauso wie letztes Jahr) besser, nach dem ich durch die Sicherheitskontrollen durch war, und es einfach kein zurück mehr gab!
Aber am FLughafen von Sioux Falls/SD mussten wir über eine Stunde auf unseren Flug warten, obwohl das Flugzeug die ganze Zeit schon draußen vor dem Fenster stand, irgendwie mussten die wohl ihren Piloten einfliegen. Das war aber echt voll scheiße, weil Max und ich waren schon total besorgt, dass wir den Flug in Chicago nicht kriegen würden, oder unser Gepäck es nicht bis zum Anschlussflug schaffen könnte. Nachdem wir dann aber endlich mal mit der Stewardess reden konnten, hat sie uns erklärt, wie wir eine Abkürzung zu unserem Terminal nehmen können, und eine weitere Abkürzung unseres Piloten half dann, dass wir das letztes Shuttel zum Terminal noch bekamen und letztendlich unseren Flieger auch noch kriegten. Außerdem half eine verlängerte Wartezeit in Chicago im Flieger, dass unser Gepäck es auch noch rechtzeitig ankam, bevor wir abflogen. So konnte dann unsere Reise über den großen Teich fortgesetzt werden. Wir sind pünktlich angekommen in Stuttgart!
Aber das war genauso eine scheiß Zeit. Jetzt waren wir wieder so total aufgeregt und so. Deshalb haben wir versucht uns in der letzten Ecke der Gepäckabholhalle zu verstecken, unter Sonnenbrille und Cowboyhütten. Wir haben uns auch darum gestritten, wer jetzt als erstes durch die Milchglastür gehen muss. Am Ende hab ich dann natürlich wieder den kürzeren Gezogen und bin raus. So war es und es war einfach eine schreckliche Zeit! Es wurde dann wieder etwas besser, nachdem meine Mom auf mich nach ihrer Umarmung, bei der ich fast keine Luft mehr bekommen hab, losgelassen hat. =)
Der schönste Teil unserer Flugreise nach Hause war Chicago bei Nacht zu sehen, das Essen im Flugzeug (einfach nur lecker) und die Filme, und natrülich auch die Gespräche im Flugzeug von London nach Stuttgart, dann wieder den ersten Blick auf dt. Boden zu werfen ... Max und ich waren außer uns und haben das ganze Flugzeug unterhalten, glaub ich. Neben mir sahs ein ganz netter Mann, der aus Deutschland stammt, aber in London wohnt und arbeitet. Er hat eigentlich die meiste Zeit nur geschmunselt, aber wusste wenigstens auch, wie es Max und mir ging. Er hat die ganze Zeit gelacht, als Max und ich uns unterhalten haben und es hat ihn natürlich garnicht gestört, ob wir uns jetzt in Deutsch oder Englisch unterhalten haben - wie es uns eben grad gepasst hat!
Naja, nun bin ich wieder zurück in Deutschland und es ist schön, wieder hier zu sein! Ich bin schon gespannt, was hier noch so alles geht.
